A job which is the opposite of an extension. My front door faces the street. I wish to replace it with a long double glazed window and then move it "inwards" by creating a patio area ie transforming the inner corner of my kitchen to a little patio entrance. This would consist of knocking out a window and knocking down part of an exterior wall(small) which may be load bearing). Then, two short inner walls need to be created, with the "old" door on left side and the "old" window on central wall. It will be a small covered area (the roof may need joists) to be used as an entrance.

I need a multi fuel stove installed in my kitchen (entrance room). The stove must be of the appropriate power rating for the room and be provided with a system that allows for even distribution of heat (no wastage/useless heat via walls or elsewhere). As there is no chimney in my l3 level house, the flue piping would have to go through 3 celings/floors and finally emerge via the roof. It is imperative that stove is effective in distributing heat and that all fittings comply completely with the relevant legal and environmental regulations.

We are buying a large detached village house we expect to complete in October. The house is in a protected village next to the Church so this will have to be taken into consideration if the canal tiles are changed. The house is 17th century and has a footprint of 300m2, the roof area is about 390m2. There are eight chimneys and some of these will need to be rebuilt above the roof level. The wooden structure does not use the expected over sized timbers normally found, some of the timbers need to be replaced/reinforced, the roof has sagged in places and has leaked in numerous areas, so it is a major job. The house in on a road on the front and one side with good access one the other two, the roof is double hipped, well triple as one end wall is staggered.
