Small kitchen needs internal wall moving to allow for more units. Presently have gas cooker & bottle. Would like to have electric eye level cooker and fitted hob. Dishwasher would need moving. Would need new kitchen units, new oven, hob, extractor, SS sink with drainer and worktops. Would like some design advice.

We live near Hesdin and have sold our current home. We are negotiating to buy a fermette which requires a lot of work, but the roof and structure are good and insulation is in place. It is basically plasterboarding the upper floors, fitting velux's, removing a downstairs non-supporting wall, fitting new kitchen and bathrooms and doing any electrical work and plumbing that are necessary. We need to remove a large internal wall our lower lounge. It is a 5 metre long, 1 metre high and 1 metre deep, walled and filled with old stones etc. It used to be the sapce for cows to be fed, and the previous owner filled it in. We also need an internal stud wall built with a door frame, a radiator added and some minor electrical work done. The house is in Najac, Midi-Pyrenees.

Reparation after an inondation Nice

An inondation caused by neighbour above has brought my kitchen 'false ceiling' down. My insurance company has sent various 'enterprises' who have either not turned up, have been extremely rude, do not give a name and clearly do not want the job. I believe I am now to get an 'expert', then I can choose my own 'enterprise'. I have no idea what the damage will in reality cost. I might also decide to improve the kitchen. I am here until 16th October for this trip I would at least like the dangerous false ceiling taken down even if I have to wait for the main one to dry out. I do speak French but it is difficult sometimes to understand .

We are considering buying a single storey house near St Sulpice les Feuilles. It has its own well in the garden, with, I believe, water piped into the house. it doesn't appear to have a fosse septique, and the Mairie say there are no plans to have it tout a l'egout. There are radiators, and an old wood-burning stove in the kitchen. Would like to have some idea of cost of renovation: fosse septique, new electrics, new heating system, before we make a decision on whether we can afford all the renovations on top of the house price. The house and roof seem sound and well-looked after. There is a large kitchen, plus 3 double bedrooms, two smaller rooms.
