Recently purchased property consisting of one main house on 3 levels, 2 large barns on 2 levels and 1 small barn on 2 levels. Initially I need a new roof on the main house and for the other rooves to be made good and repaired. All buildings need cleaning and pointing. I would also like new windows and doors to the main house, and new guttering to all buildings - including drainage to a new septic tank (old one to be removed)

Seeking English speaking architect/building/project manager to design and oversee the minor renovation of a small Chateau Forte [3 levels, 750m2]. Works include: new kitchen, bathroom, toilet, laundry, ensuite and walk-in-closet, minor repairs, and masonry work for realigning the main gate. There is very little structural work to be undertaken as the building is generally in good condition and does not require major capital works. Architect to also advise on the future scope of a possible 2nd phase renovation in 2010. This could include the renovation of up to five vaulted cellars, including the transformation of the cellars into a wine cellar, bedroom, small media room, and kitchen/studio. We have a current project which is a Water Mill conversion that has planning permission and we have also installed the Septic tank. To give you a brief idea of the work involved, the property has water and electricity on site, the roof is in good condition but will need breaking into for the construction of a glass and oak Atrium. The stone walls will need the addition of windows and some door openings etc, and will have 2 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. Hi, I have an old house in the Auvergne region 63520. I need the following work done to an attached barn (approx 8mtr x 6 mtre) which has fallen into decay: 1. Concrete floor for car parking 2. Stabilization of walls ( spraying with concrete is the easiest way I have been advised): 4 internal walls (height approx 3 - 3.5 mtres) 3. External stabilzation of end wall (it is bowed), but about 0.5 mtrs thick, so it should not fall with some TLC) 4. New roof (the old one has collapsed) it has been sugegsted that using roof trusses will give less weight on the walls, no weight on the end wall, then blocking up the end wall to complete the job and spraying the external blocks to match the rest of the wall. 5. Roof covering to this barm, plus attached 2nd barn (which currently has old black bitumen sheets on existing timbers, which are mostly OK (just rip off the old sheets and replace) - all with cement undulated sheets (red finish), no tiles. 6. Repair to entance doorway (requires new lintel internal, and maybe external, as the internal one has broken), plus repair to stones in wall that have fallen adjacent to the door entrance (about 0.5 mtre circular fall) I have already had quotes from French builders, very, very high (between 18,000 E and 32,000E). I have already applied through Le Mairie for Permis Contruire, and the local Maire is happy with the plan, and he also speaks English. I am really looking for the most economical way to make the structure safe (especially the bowed end wall) and get the entrance doorway repaired, and the the roof/floor done. Are you interested? Move Fuse Box - Knock Down Wall Tarbes, Argeles Gazost

We need to move the main fuse box as we want to knock the wall down. The fuse box needs to be moved about 2-3 metres to cupboard under the stairs. Once this is done we would like the wall knocked down and one dividing wall upstairs. neither walls are load bearing.
